About Cloud Q. Conrad

Cloud Conrad is a communications specialist with a full career in advertising, marketing, corporate training, and strategic planning. Following the loss of her father to frontotemporal dementia, Conrad turned her sights and talents towards helping people find confidence and competence in the role of dementia caregiver through her instructional design consultancy, New Street Compass.

Conrad has been a primary caregiver for both father and mother. She faces increased risk of dementia because of this lineage. Her experiences and risk profile motivate her work in dementia education.

Conrad authored The Dementia Field Guide®, a practical manual for dementia caregivers. She has developed a state-compliant 16-hour staff training program mandated for assisted living facilities with memory care units in Georgia. And she is the developer of Exploring Dementia™, a training game designed to help professional and family caregivers learn to think on their feet to apply dementia knowledge and care principles and techniques in a variety of person-specific, real-world scenarios.

She is a certified Dementia Caregiver Trainer (Teepa Snow, Positive Approach), Facilitator Trainer for the Virtual Dementia Tour® (Second Wind Dreams), and Community Educator for the Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter.

Conrad is currently working towards a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology at the University of North Georgia. She also pursues a Masters in Fine Arts from the College of Journalism at the University of Georgia, specializing in narrative non-fiction, with a hopeful graduation date of September, 2027 for both programs.
